2008 Chevy Malibu

The 2008 Chevrolet Malibu came as a relief to a lot of people who really like Malibu's. So what was the beef about them in recent years?

Not the Size.  The Malibu has always been known to be at the upper end size-wise in its class.  You could be sure to find plenty of leg room and a trunk space that rivaled Camry and Accord and all its other major competitors.

Not the power.  While there were no dual-overhead cams in the previous 3.5 liter engine (The 2008 Chevrolet Malibu now comes with dual-overheads by the way), Chevrolet engineers did a great job creating a really responsive car.

So the #1 complaint:  The cars were not that good looking.  Chevrolet went for functionality and focused on creating a good reliable family car and they did this well.  Very Well! But before the 2008, the folks at Chevy seemed to not focus too much on the aesthetics of the car.

So how did the 2008  Malibu stack up? Chevrolet realized that you can create a great car and make it beautiful as well! (Check out the 2008 Chevy Malibu  page and you will see what I mean)

So, the 2008 ushered in a beautiful new look to the Malibu.  A new front end, two horizontal grill openings, a noticeably wider stance, a pair of dual round headlights, and a slightly more muscular look… all pointing to the new approach to create a first-rate car and make you love it for more than the smooth ride.

I would not be surprised if the new look had something to do with the 2008 Chevy Malibu being chosen as the Best American Car of the Year!
